Missions Conference | Outreach | Language

Dear Pastors and Churches,

We were very excited to have the first missions conference with our church here in Portugal. We had Missinary Kent Gossmeyer come and preach for the week. It was a great time together with the missionary and the church here. We had a great turn out all week and saw God move in our commitment for missions. I believe this to be true, Missions does not change once we get to the field. The churches that will be planted are commanded to give and send as well.It was a blessing to see the Church’s heart and love for missions that week. The church here has been able to take on 2 Missionaries that are faithfully working on the field currently. WHAT A GREAT GOD we serve!

We have seen many visitors come and hear the truth. I’ve been able to meet with a couple of them and have conversations with them through a translator. When I met with one of the visiting families, he mentioned that he has never heard a preacher give scripture to back up what he is teaching on. This family has been visiting for over a month now and they are eager to learn and grow. It's been very difficult not being able to understand anyone still, I often feel like a toddler. God’s been so good to allow us two people that are able to translate as we need them and having a translating device. We have continued to give out flyers and tracks around the community. We cannot knock doors but we are able to put them in their mailboxes. To think people go looking for important mail and are presented with Eternal life is great. We pray many people will read and trust the Lord from this work.

We have been able to do some repairs and decorating at the church building while we have been here. The church has been excited to see everything take place and has been involved in working to update the space we have. We have had several Sunday's where we only had 5-6 chairs open! We are Praying God will allow us to move to a space that would be bigger for our church. When a church hits about 75% full, visitors feel uncomfortable coming in. So we are praying and seeking the Lord on what to do next, If he will allow us to buy a building or find one to rent. Please pray with us about what God will have us to do.

Kiska and I have been going to language lessons twice a week for two hours at a time. Our heads seem to always hurt now but we are thankful that we have the opportunity to do class together while a lady from our church babysits the boys. Please pray we are able to learn the language as fast as possible to be able to communicate and work with those around us.

God has allowed me to meet a young man that I have been able to go through the Gospel with. He has not trusted the Lord but has allowed me to talk with him about God, church and my beliefs. Please Pray!

Visitors and Contacts to Witness To

Pray that God sends visitors and contacts to witness to. We have had some visitors come to church over the last couple of weeks and desire to see more come to know the Lord. We have been able to meet with a family that has been coming. They said they have never heard a Pastor give them Bible on everything they are preaching. Pray for their salvation.
